Wild Okra, 2022

Wild Okra, 2022
I am sure I have seen these flowers for awhile, but not until last year did I really start looking for them. These beautiful white blossoms appear along the highway as I travel to New Orleans. This past spring/summer I feel like they were everywhere. The blooms are beautiful and large, I had to know what they were. I asked a master gardener friend, and she told me they are Wild Okra. For some reason this blew my mind, I became incredibly intrigued. I researched and began drawing!
Wild Okra is my largest print to date. The plate is as long as my press can handle. I enjoyed working on this scale, having small details but also leaving areas that were open.
Print size: 10.5” X 18”
Paper size: approximately 14” X 23”
Printed onto archival BFK French Rives paper using oil-based Cranfield Colors ink.
Each print comes titled, dated, and signed in pencil on the front.
It comes to you carefully packaged and protected in tissue paper inside a sturdy mailing tube to ensure that it arrives safely.
You are buying something handmade, the prints will have slight variations making each one of a kind. Although multiple prints come from one plate, each print is unique.
This piece is the 2nd in a series and pairs well with “Japanese Magnolias,” “Columbines,” and “Honeysuckle”.
I recommend custom framing.
